Guangdong General Information
Located in the south of the NanlingMountains, Guangdong Province got its name from the abbreviation of Guangnandonglu. It covers an area of over 186.000 square kilometers and has a population of 86.42 million (2006) with Guangzhou as its provincial capital. The mountain and hill areas cover most of Guangdong.
  Guangdong Climate
It has tropical and subtropical monsoon climate with long time summer and abundant rainfall. The Leizhou Peninsula is in the tropical zone.


Guangdong Local Products
Guangdong, Land of fruits, is South China's developed province in economy. Its crops are abundant, such as rice, sugarcane, jute, and peanut and sisal hemp. Banana, sugarcane, lychee and pineapple are its four famous fruits. The Zhuojiang River Delta is the base of silkworm and mulberry and the Maine products and fishery here are also flourishing. Black tea, four famous fruits, Guangdong embroidery, ivory carving and ceramics are its important local products.

The major scenic spots are including Yuexiu Mountian, DinghuMountain, Loufu Mountain, BaiyunMountain, XiqiaoMountain, KaiyuanTemple.
